Luna Matatas is a Toronto-based queer sex and pleasure educator who coined and trademarked “Peg the Patriarchy” in Canada in 2015. She launched her brand around this anti-patriarchal message, defining the phrase as a metaphor for subverting the patriarchal system, rooted in equality and sex education. Matatas, who has over 15 years of experience, offers workshops, coaching, webinars, and merchandise. She has addressed challenges regarding the appropriation of her slogan.

Erika Hart (she/they) is a Black queer non-binary femme activist, writer, and award-winning sexuality educator with a Master’s of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University. Ericka’s work broke ground when she went topless, showing her double mastectomy scars in public in 2016. Since then, she has been in demand at colleges and universities across the country, featured in countless digital and print publications like Vogue, Washington Post, Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, VICE, PAPER Mag, BBC News, Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair, W Magazine, Glamour, Elle, and Essence. Ericka’s voice is rooted in leading-edge thought around human sexual expression as inextricable to overall human health and its intersections with race, gender, chronic illness, and disability. Both radical and relatable, she continues to push well beyond the threshold of sex positivity. For the past 15 years, she has taught comprehensive, trauma-informed, consent- and pleasure-based sex education from an anti-racist, queer lens at the elementary, high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. This includes 4 years at Columbia University’s School of Social Work, the CUNY School of Public Health at Hunter College, and now as the founding instructor of their own AASECT-certified sexuality education training program, Sex Ed as Resistance, which has matriculated more than 250 students as of today.

National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance
–Founded in 1969, the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA) is a non-profit fat rights organization dedicated to protecting the rights and improving the quality of life for fat people.
Association for Size Diversity and Health
– is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with an international membership started in 2003. Our organization is committed to the Health At Every Size® (HAES®) principles. The Health At Every Size® Principles and Framework of Care are continuously evolving alternatives to the weight-centered approach to treating clients and patients of all sizes. We educate about medical anti-fat bias and advocate for healthcare to align with the Health at Every Size® approach.
Coalition for Fat Identities
-An entity group within ACPA – College Student Educators International. CFI works specifically within higher education to advocate for physical space accessibility (like proper classroom ergonomics) and to dismantle anti-fat bias affecting students, staff, and faculty.
Body Liberation Photos
– Run by Lindley (pronounced LIN-lee, she/her) creates artwork that celebrates the unique beauty of bodies that fall outside conventional “beauty” standards. She is a photographer, author, cat mom, entrepreneur, musician, and activist. She rejects the concept that plus-size people are only beautiful when our bodies look as close as possible to thin people’s.
